Where to eat & Drink in Madarao

Being a smaller resort, naturally Madarao village is a bit smaller than the more well-known resorts. That’s changing though, and new restaurants, bars and night-spots are opening every season. Here is a breakdown of some of our favourite spots.

The Raicho Supper Club

Raicho Supper Club is excited to welcome Pete Denhart as our chef in residence. His honed culinary skills showcase the local ingredients from around Japan using combinations of woodfired dishes, crisp, seasonable vegetable flavours, to create delightful new Japanese-fusion taste sensations. Enjoy a carefully curated selection of wine and sake by the fireplace as a prelude to a sumptuous evening meal. Remember to save a little space for roasting marshmallows by the fire! Reservations are preferred.

Aki's Pub & Cafe

Aki's Pub & Cafe brews some good coffee if you’re looking for your caffeine fix, and their oven baked pizzas are a local specialty. At night you can expect free flowing cocktails, ice cold beers and lively music. This is one of those places that is good for the soul!

Drop Off Bar & Cafe Madarao

The Drop Off Bar and Cafe opens early in the day to make sure all those early risers hunting the first lifts have somewhere to grab some breakfast, a cup of coffee & snacks for the day.

The Danro

Located inside Madarao Kogen Hotel, the Danro offers patrons a wide selection of beverages to enjoy in front of a cozy fireplace. The Danro is a perfect place to relax and recuperate after a big day on the slopes.

Unjaune Madarao

If you’re looking for a burger bar look no further than Unajaune Madarao. Last year they held a Triple J Hottest 100 party on January 27th, so look out for that if you’re visiting from Australia and looking for a taste of home while you’re in Madarao.

The Shaggy Yak

Last but not least, any list of apres snow options would not be complete without The Shaggy Yak. This cozy little place has a great vibe filled with fun, cold beers, spirits to warm your soul and you’ll be singing along to the music and loving the Madarao life in no time!

Shaggy Yak turntables

That’s just a few of the places that you can find around Madarao to get a bite to eat and enjoy a glass or two of your favourite drink. I hope to see you around at one of these places in the coming season. Let us know in the comments what you think of these spots, or if you have a personal favourite that I didn’t mention - I’m always looking for a new place to try!
